ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP): Minister for Petroleum and Natural
Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Saturday said it was the
responsibility of the government to establish its writ and rule of
law.

He said the government was committed to protect basic rights
of the citizens and no noe would be allowed to violate law and
create anarchy in the country.

Talking to PTV, Khaqan Abbasi said holding peaceful protest was
right of every political party. But such activity disrupted the normal
life of the people then action would be taken against such elements under the law, he added.

He said the Punjab government had facilitated the Pakistan
Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in holding the rally at Raiwind.

The PTI chief Imran Khan, he alleged, was using derogatory
language against his political opponents like US presidential
candidate Donald Trump.

He said Imran Khan was well aware of his diminishing popularity
due to his wrong policies and looming defeat in 2018 general election.

He said the PTI leader was wasting his energy in ‘politics
of protests’ and suggested him to focus on the development of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa where his party was enjoying the power.

Replying to a question, he said every democratic government
should complete its constitutional tenure and other parties should
wait for next general election.

Commenting on the Panama Papers issue, he said the government
was committed from the day one to probe the matter. Prime Minister
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had addressed the nation and presented
himself for accountability, he added.

Panama Papers issue was sub judice and the government
would accept the decision of apex court, he said.
