Issue of discontinuation of pension of Lok Virsa employees resolved: Pervaiz Rashid


ISLAMABAD, Jan. 18 (APP): Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Tuesday said that the issue of discontinuation of pension of Lok Virsa employees had been resolved and they were now getting their basic pension.
Replying to a calling attention notice of Dr.Nafisa Shah, Imran Zafar Leghari and others, he said the employees were calling for inclusion of annual increment and increase in pension.
The Minister said the issue of increment and increase in pension was also on the agenda of Board of Governors meeting of Lok Virsa and efforts were being made to resolve it as early as possible.
He said when the present administration of Lok Virsa took charge the department had Rs six million liabilities, adding that the present administration not only cleared the liabilities but restored pension of the retired employees besides efforts were also being made to improve its financial position.
The Speaker referred a resolution of Sahibzad Tariq Ullah and other to
declare Friday as a weekly holiday to standing committee concerned of the House for thorough deliberations.
The movers were of the view that Friday be declared a weekly holiday as
it was declared by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in his last speech to the Parliament in 1977.
