Irfan Siddiqui inaugurates three day painting exhibition by Jimmy

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP): Advisor to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Friday inaugurated three day painting exhibition by Jimmy Engineer, a renowned painter at National Library.
Three day exhibition theme “to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs from 1947 to date in the cause of Pakistan” was arranged by National History and Literary Heritage Division.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Advisor to the Prime Minister said that Jimmy Engineer was a big name of the country as he dedicated himself for the country.
He said that this exhibition was specially arranged to pay tributes to the martyrs and national’s heros.
He said that the displayed paintings wais depicting the whole history of
the country.
He said that very precious paintings also gifted by the artists, adding that the exhibition of these paintings would also be arranged in other cities of the country.
He said that his ministry would also make efforts to take this exhibition on international level as it was projecting the soft image of the country.
He said that around 90 paintings displayed in today’s exhibition.
Advisor to the Prime Minister appreciated his ministry Secretary Mohsin S. Haqqani and Joint Secretary Mashhood Mirza for good arrangements of exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, Artist Jimmy Engineer said that he considered himself the employee of my country, adding that it is my pleasure to serve my country through art.
Jimmy Engineer is a multi layered artist. His art is not confined to images on canvas as his canvas extends far beyond all that is material.
Though he already has over 2000 paintings and more than 1000
calligraphies to his name besides the 20,000 or so prints in! private collection, selling his work is not why he paints.
He prefers to be acknowledged as a simple mortal who cares for the human kingdom with a passion. That passion has been waging a war within him for over 30 years, alternately translating into coloured imagery or humane deeds to support miserable souls.
Pakistan Green Task Force Chairman Dr. Jamal Nasir, Deputy Cultural Attache US Embassy Maureen Y. Mimnaugh, Cultural Officer China Cultural Center Liu Ying, Managing Director National Book Foundation (NBF) Prof. Dr. Inamul Haq Javeid, Joint Secretary Ministry of National History and Literary Heritage Mashhood Mirza and a large number of people from different walks of life also present on the occasion.
Talking to APP, China Cultural Center Officer Liu Ying said that the artist beautifully produced the paintings which highlighting the culture and beauty Pakistan.
