ISLAMABAD, Apr 27 (APP): Pakistan on Wednesday said the
Indian request of giving `consular access’ to the apprehended
RAW officer Kulbushan Jadev was being examined by its
authorities concerned.
“We took up this issue with India, who has accepted that he (Kulbushan Jadev) is an Indian citizen. India has sought consular access and the matter is being examined,” said Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad in response to a question at a news briefing here at the Foreign Office.
Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, who visited New Delhi on Tuesday to attend the Senior Officials Meeting of the Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process, said on the sidelines he also met Indian Foreign Secretary, Dr. S. Jaishankar and discussed bilateral relations as well as issues of mutual concern in a cordial environment.
