India used SAARC platform against Pakistan: Raza Rabbani

ISLAMABAD, Oct 16 (APP): Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani Sunday said that India has used the platform of the SAARC to further its political agenda against Pakistan.
The Chairman Senate alongwith the Senate delegation comprising of Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa and Senator Najm-ul-Hassan Malik had a detailed meeting with the Speaker of People’s Majlis of Maldives, says a message received here.
He called upon other SAARC countries to reassess the role of the SAARC and not to permit any country to monopolize the forum.
He further emphasized that it would be appropriate for SAARC member states to censor such a move in the future.
The Chairman Senate brought to the notice of the Speaker of the People’s Majlis the role of India in sabotaging the SAARC summit which was to be held at Islamabad.
Chairman Senate highlighted the gross violation of human rights and international law by India in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He brought to the notice of the Speaker the use of pellet bullets and the loss of eyesight of innocent children.
He further stated that over 90 days have passed and the valley continued to be under curfew and innocent men, women and children lost their lives.
What all they are demanding is the implementation of the UN resolutions granting them the right of self determination, he added.
Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani arrived in the Maldives on Saturday, where he was received at the airport by the Speaker of People’s Majlis
of Maldives Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed and presented a guard of honour.
The Chairman Senate stressed upon greater Parliamentary contact and exchanges between Pakistan and Maldives.
He offered Pakistan’s assistance on the question of devolution of power and increased cooperation between the Secretariats of the two Parliaments.
The Chairman Senate invited the Speaker to visit Pakistan at a time of his convenience.
