High Commissioner hosts Eid ul Fitr Open House

LONDON, Jun 16 (APP):Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner to the United Kingdon (UK), hosted an Eid-ul-Fitr Open
House here at his official residence, “Pakistan House” in London on Friday , to celebrate the auspicious occasion
of Eid ul Fitr with the Pakistani community in the UK and friends of Pakistan in the British society.
A large number of guests from all walks of society attended the Open House and were served with
traditional Pakistani cuisine.
The guests included Former Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Sir Anwar Pervez, Rehman Chishti
Member Parliament (MP), Mayors, Ambassadors/High Commissioners, Councillors, community leaders, prominent
business persons, members of the Pakistani and British society, representatives of the Foreign and Commonwealth
Office (FCO), and Department for International Development (DFID),officials of the High Commission as well as
their families and media representatives.
The High Commissioner and his wife spent the day with the community members representing all ages and
interests.
The High Commissioner received the guests and wished them Eid Mubarak .
The attendees termed the event a great opportunity to socialize and meet and greet each other on this
happy occasion. They said: “Celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr at Pakistan House gives the feeling of being in Pakistan
and we love the festivity, culture, traditions, clothing and cuisine, all this is reminiscent of Pakistan where
families and friends get together and celebrate Eid.”
The guests said coming to the Pakistan House each time for the consecutive three years further
strengthens their bond with the High Commission.
They lauded High Commissioner’s initiative to reach out and bring families and friends together on the
auspicious day of Eid.
Special arrangements were made to entertain the children, including Bouncy Castle and Candy Corner
where they had fun time during the day out.
The Open House provided a good opportunity for the High Commission officials and the community to
celebrate Eid together. Presence of the members of the Pakistani as well as the British society in a large
number at the Pakistan House made the day memorable.
A traditional musical programme was also arranged which enthralled the audience.
