Govt to hold Asian libraries conference at AIOU

AIOU marks 79th anniversary of Allama Iqbal with pledge to promote his thoughts

ISLAMABAD, May 4 (APP): First-ever Asian Libraries Conference
will be held here at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in first week of
September this year to promote book-reading culture and strengthen
research-based academic work at higher education level.
It is being organized by the Pakistan Library Association in collaboration with AIOU and Department of Libraries. It will be a two-day event, to be participated by the representatives of national libraries from home and abroad.
It is aimed at enhancing regional cooperation in respect of knowledge
and resource sharing. The conference’s participants will exchange their
expertise and experience to make the library a strong source of academic research.
