Govt resolving problems of farmers on priority: Daniyal Aziz

SIALKOT, Nov 19 (APP): MNA Ch Daniyal Aziz has said a dream of economic development and stability could never become true without progress of the agriculture sector.
He said an early and amicable solution of farmers and growers’ problems was a top priority of the government and the Kisaan Package was an unprecedented financial support package
for farmers.
He stated this while talking to different delegations of party workers, farmers, growers and notables at his residence at Shakargarh here.
Daniyal Aziz said the government was fully aware of problems of farmers and growers and it was making all-out sincere and hectic efforts to resolve these problems amicably
by giving maximum relief to them.
He said the Kissan Relief Package would also give a boost
to the national agro based economy besides helping a lot to pull
the farmers community out of problems.
“No government has ever announced such a huge package for
farmers in the history of Pakistan,” he added.
Under the package, small rice farmers would be provided
Rs 5,000 per acre cash support. The cash assistance of Rs5,000 has
been announced for cotton growers as well, he added.
Daniyal Aziz said the package was aimed at introducing
progressive agriculture on scientific lines, reducing production
cost of crops and make small farmers prosperous.
He said the country’s development was directly related to
the uplift of its agriculture sector, particularly farmers.
He said the government had already set up an Rs 20 billion
fund to reduce prices of fertilizers which will lessen Rs 500 per
bag of Potassium and Nitrate fertilizers.
The Punjab government would distribute 923.8 million among
43,000 farmers of Narowal district under the Kisaan Package, he added.
