Govt empowering nation through socio-economic uplift, skill development: Tanveer

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP): Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Rana Tanveer Hussain Thursday said the socio-economic uplift of nation through education and skill enhancement was top priority of the government.
The minister expressed these remarks as chief guest during his address at 8th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Summit and Awards Ceremony which held here, which was organised by National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH).
The government and corporate sector was collaborating to educate the youth with particular focus on their social uplift, the minister added.
Rana Tanveer said that various welfare schemes launched by the PML-N government were being acknowledged globaly.  The minister said that like Benazir Income Support (BISP)
and Endowment Fund, current government was providing financial, technical and social support and training to unskilled youth through various programmes.
“The government was working round the clock for socio-economic  uplift of the society and bring peace in the country,” he added. He said that work was also being carried out to
standardize and streamline research education system in Pakistan.
The minister said that the nation could only get  progress by making Pakistan a knowledge based country and added that by launching various welfare schemes, the government has brought a silent revolution in social and education sector.
The minister felicitated all award winning companies and said they have played a vital role in empowerment of society in the field of education, health, environment, socio-economic development, welfare projects for under privileged and under-served masses of the
country.
President National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH), Naeem Quershi said that the purpose of holding the 8th CSR Conference is to pay tribute to dignitaries and legends of
the country who made an exceptional difference in the service of humanity which is not only example for people of Pakistan but for the whole world.
Among others, oil and gas development company limited, Memon medical institute hospital, Bank Alfalah, Pak Arab Oil Refinery, Ghani Glass, Nestle Pakistan, Adamjee Insurance, Crown
Group, United Insurance company, Agha Steel industries, Searle, Pakistan State Oil, Sui Southern gas company limited and State life insurance company were included among the major sponsors of the event.
