Govt committed to protect minorities' rights: PM

ISLAMABAD, Aug 14 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Sunday said that the government was committed to protect minorities’ rights as they enjoyed equal rights as citizens of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister was talking to Dr Sham Sundar Advani, a
leader of PML-N Sindh chapter, who called on him and conveyed felicitation on the occasion of Independence Day.

The Prime Minister appreciated the sacrifices and effective
role played by the minorities for the national cause and progress.

He reiterated that protection of their rights was the
government’s priority.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs
Dr Asif Kirmani was also present during the meeting, said a press release of the PM Office media wing.

Dr Sham Sundar said the Sindh minorities deeply appreciated
the Prime Minister’s agenda of development and steps to protect their rights.

During the meeting, political situation and organization issue
of the party were also discussed.
