ISLAMABAD, Dec 12 (APP):Minister for Petroleum Division Ghulam Sarwar
Khan has said that gas issues in Sindh would be discussed during the scheduled meeting with Chief Minister on December 14 (Friday).
Responding to points of order raised by PPPP
lawmakers Abdul Qadir Patel and Syed Naveed Qamar in National Assembly, the minister
said that officials from Sui Southern Gas Company and Ministry of Petroleum
would also participate in this meeting and gas issues being faced by Sindh
would be overcome, if any.
The minister said that there has been no gas
load shedding in Sindh for domestic consumers and for Zero-rated as well as export
oriented Industries. He said that notices were served to captive industries and CNG sectors in October that gas will be not provided to both of them for next three months due to shortfall.
However, he said that a meeting has been
conducted with representatives of CNG association today and it has been assured
to restore the gas for this sector after improvement in the situation.
The minister said that gas supply has been disconnected
for CNG sector after depreciation in gas production in two fields since
November 22. However, the minister hoped that solution would be made after the meeting
with Chief Minister Sindh.
