First IG Khurshid Alam Memorial Inter-Regional Tennis from Monday


PESHAWAR, Nov 6 (APP): The first edition of the IG Khurshid Alam Khan Memorial Inter-Regional Tennis Championship will be commencing today (Monday) here at synthetic courts of the Qayyum Sports Complex.
This was stated by Secretary KP Tennis Association Umar Ayaz while
talking to APP here on Sunday. He said top players hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be taking part in different age group categories including Under-10, Under-12, Under-14 and Men singles. He said a total of 120 players with 24 players in each age group category and 64 players in the Men singles will be taking from Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Mardan, Swat, Hazara and host Peshawar Regions. He said it is expected that Commandant Elite Force Muhammad Saleem Khan Marwat would grace the occasion in the morning at 11.00 am.
The players have already reached Peshawar and were accommodated in the Sports Board hostel. The aim and objective of holding the event is pay rich tribute to late Khurshid Alam Khan, a very good player of Tennis, who was died recently while batting Tennis in the Police Club Courts. The KP Tennis Association, he said, has decided to pay him homage and tribute to late Khurshid Alam Khan for this it is holding the event wherein players from all districts would vie for the top honor.
