Farooq Haider moves for early completion of abondoned development projects in earthquake hit AJK zone

AJK PM concern about Malik’s health, demands allowing him to go abroad

MIRPUR, Oct 14 (APP): AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan Friday expressed his government’s resolve to complete the stranded/ incomplete projects of reconstruction program in earthquake hit areas of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

The federal government would be approached to furnish with the  requisite funds for completion of all ongoing development projects in the quack stricken Muzaffarabad and other districts of AJK.

Farooq Haider expressed these views after a briefing given to him by chairman ERRA Maj Gen Asgher Nawaz on Reconstruction Program here at Prime Minister Secretariat in the capital town.

The AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan while
addressing the meeting,said that people of the State would never forget the invaluable cooperation and sympathies extended by the people of Pakistan after the devastating earthquake 2005.

Farooq Haider said hundreds of hospitals and educational
institutions destroyed in deadly earthquake.

Chairman ERRA told the participants of the meeting that we
were not getting funds according to our demand that’s why ERRA is facing difficulties in completing the on going projects.

“ We got 22,11,07&10% funds against the total demand in year 2012 13.to 2015 16 respectively,” he said.

Earlier, Director General ERRA in his briefing told that under
the ERRA’s vision (Build, Back, Better) 7743 projects were designed out of which 5237 projects have been completed and handed over to the relevant departments.

Prime Minister reviewed the progress of projects under the
ERRA and was briefed on development activities covering roads, schools, health and municipal schemes.
