Big N.Y. parade to mark American Thanksgiving holiday

NEW YORK, Nov 27 (APP): A
colourful parade, with giant balloons, floats, marching bands and clowns marked
the American Thanksgiving holiday that drew thousands of spectators.For the
first time, the parade route bypassed the famed Broadway, which cuts a diagonal
slice through Manhattan, as it made its way south to the finish at Macy’s
flagship department store in Herald Square.Thanksgiving Day, a secular holiday,
is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada.
Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude
in general.
