Malik Sports, Police club enter into Twenty20 Cup semi-finals
PESHAWAR, Nov. 20 (APP): Malik Sports and NWFP Police team took berth in the semi-finals after recording victories against their respective rivals in the quarter-finals of the Pakistan Twenty20 Federation Cricket Cup being played here at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Federation Amjad Aziz Malik was the chief guest on this occasion. The
players of the quarter-finals teams were also introduced to Amjaz Aziz
Malik. Speaking on this occasion, Amjad
Aziz Malik assured the players that media would continue highlighting
good performances of the players during sports activities in the
province in particular and in the country in general. Organizing
Secretary and Secretary of the Pakistan Twenty20 Cricket Federation
Sanullah and match officials were also present. Earlier, in the opening match
Malik Sports defeated Mian club by seven wickets. Mian club won the
toss and elected to bat first by setting up 152 runs for the loss of
eight wickets with Gohar Ali made 31 runs including three boundaries,
Game Khan (19), Imran Khan (22) were the leading runs takers. For Malik Sports Arshad Iqbal, Nabi Khan and Ijaz got two wickets each while Hidayat got one wicket. In reply, Malik Sports chased the
target for the loss of three wickets after playing 18.1 overs. Hamad
Khan struck elegant 64 runs with seven boundaries, Nawaz Ahmad (24) and
Rahim Khan not out 55 runs. For Mian club Sajjad, Gohar and Usman took
one wicket each. Hamad was declared man of the match. In the second match Police
defeated Peshawar Panthers by 29 runs Peshawar Panthers won the toss
and scored 169 runs for the loss of eight wickets with Waqar Ahmad (42)
with four boundaries, Wajid Ali (18) Almar Afridi (370 and Asif Afridi
(15) runs were leading contributors. For Peshawar Panthers Jalil,
Muhammad Asif and Sadaat Noor took two wickets each while Iftikhar and
Ahmad Nadeem got one wicket each. In reply, Peshawar Panthers bowled out for 140 runs withInamullah (450 and Iftikhar (56) runs were the leading runs takers, none ofthe other batsmen could cross the double figures. Almar Afridi took fourwickets and was declared man of the match.
