CM addresses PPP Sindh’s parliamentary party meeting
KARACHI, Nov 13 (APP)- Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that Sindh government will ensure implementing on Annual Development Program to provide basic facilities of life to people. He pointed out that out of Rs 327 billion 2009-10 budget, Rs 81.063 billion are being spent on Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
He said the ADP outlay for the current fiscal has been set at Rs 97.905
billion which includes federal grants and foreign assistance while Rs
15 billion earmarked for district governments.
He was addressing the PPP’s Parliamentary party meeting held at Chief
Minister House under the chairmanship of Parliamentary leader Pir
Mazharul Huq.
The CM said that PPP is the country’s biggest political party and its
leaders Shaheeds Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto wrote an
important history by laying their lives for the progress and prosperity
of country and people.
The Sindh Government, he said, is striving day and night for the
progress and prosperity of people while President Asif Ali Zardari is
keen to give practical shape to progress and prosperity of entire
country.
Qaim Ali Shah said that heads and officials of all the departments have been directed to ensure timely completion of projects.
He told the meeting about start of Shaheed Benazir Income Support
Program where under 0.5 million poor people would be financially helped.
He said every MPA will propose the names of such women of their respective constituencies.
He asked the Ministers and MPAs not only to maintain close liaison with the people but also solve their problems.
He informed that a headway has been made in two important projects and
under one of them, a 4-lane duel carriageway will be constructed
between Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas while go ahead given for exploration
of coal in Block-2 of Thar Coal.
The CM maintained that Sindh Government will launch a drive to provide basic facilities to people and solve their problems.
He warned the hoarders and profiteers not to put the poor people into
any more inconveniences and give up hoarding or else they will face the
wrath of law.
He cautioned the buraucracy and government officers to make service to
people their mission and solve their genuine problems on priority.
He declared that PPP stand united and is stronger under the leadership
of Co-Chairman and President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf
Raza Gilani and would face every challenge and crises with
steadfastness.
On the occasion, fateha was offered for Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, father
of Provincial Minister Syed Ali Mardan Shah and sister of Minister Haji
Muzaffar Ali Shajra.
Earlier, the Senior Minister Pir Mazharul Huq highlighted the efforts being made for the welfare and uplift of people of Sindh and said that performance of all the departments will be streamlined and
long pending problems of people would be solved on priority basis.
He said that in Sindh the party is stronger under the leadership of
Syed Qaim Ali Shah and at the centre under the leadership of President
Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani.
