Different uplift schemes completed in Kurram Agency
PESHAWAR, Oct 26 (APP): The political
administration of Kurram Agency has completed different uplift schemes in
various areas of Kurrum Agency which will help to improve the life standard of
the people of this area.
A press release issued by FATA media cell here on Monday said
that flood protection walls have been constructed in different locations along
a river in the village of Shakh, Shalzan Khwar (stream) in the communities of
the Lazar, Kachkina, Sambast and Hindu Kale, in 12 different locations along a
stream for Sheen Khwar area, in different locations on the river in Astia Khwar
(stream) on the Pak-Afghan border.
These are 6200 ft long flood protection walls. Many acres
of fertile farmland were damaged in last year’s flood; these flood protection walls
will also benefit 307 households (9824 individuals) of Kurram Agency.
Press release added that the political authorities of Kurram
has also rehabilitated the pipeline distribution network and constructed 7
water distribution booths for the community of Batta Kot Kale in Upper Kurram.
This was as long standing basic demand of this area. This
scheme will benefit 12 household and 384 individuals.
Political Agent Kurram Agency inaugurated these schemes and
called upon the local communities to get maximum benefit from it. He said that
the government is focusing the basic needs of the remote and backward areas
with an aim to improve the standard of lives and ensure basic facilities for
the population of these areas.
He said stressed that people should cooperate with the government
in identification and quality implementation of those schemes. Local elders of
the area were also present on this occasion.
They thanked the authorities for addressing their basic demands
on priority basis and extended their full cooperation to the political administration.
