ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (APP): A warm
reception was accorded to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who is
here on a two-day official visit. The Turkish prime minister accompanied by Mrs.
Emine Erdogan, was warmly received by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and
his wife Fauzia Gilani when they arrived here at the PM House.
A red carpet was rolled out and
national anthems of the two countries were played as the green and red flags of
the two countries, both carrying the crescent and the star, fluttered with the
beautiful Margallas in the backdrop.
The Turkish Prime Minister
reviewed the guard of honour and was presented a salute by a contingent
comprising the three services.
Prime Minister Gilani
introduced his cabinet to the Turkish Prime Minsiter.
The Turkish Prime Minister who
is leading a large delegation of CEOs of private companies and members of his
entourage introduced the members of his delegation.
The two leaders later went in
for both exclusive and delegation level talks.
Prime Minister Edogan earlier
visited Pakistan in October 2005, following the devastating earthquake in NWFP
and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Turkish Prime Minister will
call on President Asif Ali Zardari and meet the Chairman Senate and Speaker
National Assembly. The two Prime Ministers will also address a joint session of
Parliament, specially convened for Monday.
Prime Minister Erdogan arrived
in the federal capital late Saturday night and was received at the airport by
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
