|
|
|
|
ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (APP): The aim of the ongoing operation is not to target the respectable and patriot Mehsud tribes but its purpose is to liberate them from the clutches of cruel terrorists, who have already destroyed the peace of entire areas, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said. In a bi lingual (Urdu and Pashto) message, issued by ISPR here on Monday, the COAS praised the role of the tribesmen including Mehsuds for their faithfulness and loyalty to Pakistan and always rendered their services voluntarily for defence of the country.
The message reads:
“My message for honourable Mehsud tribes“I hereby admit that our
tribesmen including the honourable Mehsuds are faithful and loyal to
Pakistan and always used to render defence services voluntary for
Pakistan even without getting any remuneration.
“The aim of the ongoing operation is not to target the respectable and
patriot Mehsud tribes but its purpose is to liberate the Mehsud tribes
from the clutches of cruel terrorists, who have already destroyed the
peace of entire area.
“The main targets of the operation are Uzbek terrorists, foreigners as well as local terrorists.
“The main endeavour of Pakistan Army is to provide an opportunity at
all costs to the Mehsud tribes to once again live in peace.
“I am hopeful that the Mehsud tribes will extend all possible support
to Pakistan Army and will stand up against the brute forces, so that
the national flag once again flutter over the homeland of Mehsuds with
all its dignity.
May God extend His blessings on you all Yours’ Sincerely (General
Ashfaq Parvez Kayani) Long live Pakistan Long Live Pakistan Army Long
Live Mehsud tribes”
