China set to become 4th biggest trade partner of Pakistan: MOFCOM official -
BEIJING, Feb 9 (APP): China is becoming the 4th biggest trade partner of Pakistan, said here a senior Chinese official from Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).Addressing the Pakistan-China Trade Promotion Seminar at Pakistan Embassy, Ouyang Cheng of Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs of Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said both sides enhanced exports after the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).


UK Border Agency accept AJK marriage certificates -
LONDON, Feb 09 (APP)- The UK Border Agency has communicated to Lord Nazir Ahmed, a member of the British Upper House, that it accepts Nikah Khawani certificates from Azad Kashmir as a proof of  valid marriage.“I am able to inform you that following legal advice, Nikah Khawani certificates from AJK are now accepted as proof of a valid marriage by our UK Visa Section which processes settlement applications from Pakistan. Nikah Khawanis from any other region of Pakistan are not accepted and a Nikah Nama is still required in such cases,”

South Asian Games ends at grand closing ceremony amid dazzling firework

DHAKA, Feb. 09 (APP): The 11th edition of South Asian Games ended here on Tuesday evening amid fanfare, cultural show and dazzling firework which brightened the whole of Bangladesh capital.A crowd of around 20,000 was sent into ecstasy with brilliant display of laser-beam show and colorful firework which brought the curtains down in the 12-day regional sporting gala dominated by the Indian athletes.

MIRPUR, Sep 23 (APP): The transmissions of first state-run FM-93 radio in Azad Kashmir’s largest model city of Mirpur will formally go on air with the programs of infotainment after its formally inauguration on September 30, official sources said.

According to the program, Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting, KANA and Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zama Kaira will perform the opening ceremony of FM-93 at the broadcasting house of Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur, the sources told APP here Wednesday.

AJK President Raja Zulqarnain Khan will preside over the function, being held to celebrate the 7th anniversary of Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur the same day as well. Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Murtaza Solangi and Director Programs PBC, besides other senior officials of the organization will also grace the occasion through their presence.

“PBC-sponsored FM-93 radio started bringing on air its test transmissions from the premises of Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur station recently”, Station Director Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur Muhammad Shakil said. He said that F.M studios has been set up at the Broadcasting House of AJK Radio Mirpur where required 2.50 kilowatt transmitter has yet been reached and installed. The installation of the F.M radio at Mirpur is the part of the government’s endeavors and desire to provide the programs of entertainment and information to the people of the remote areas side by side the urban areas of the country including AJK.

Brisk preparations are afoot for holding of the inaugural ceremony of FM-93 radio as well as 7th anniversary of AK Radio Mirpur in a befitting manner. It will be first of its own kind in the public sector in Mirpur. The 192-feet high F.M Radio mast has already been installed in the premises of the Mirpur Radio Station.  The programs of infotainment of local, national and international interest are proposed to be brought on air by the FM-93 Radio to provide entertainment and information through this fast flourishing mean of electronic media to the population of this region.

Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur bringing on air its routine transmissions on its stipulated 100 kilowatt strength covering a vast area of the country besides the occupied Jammu Kashmir.

Muhammad Shakeel said that Mirpur Radio station has launched various special attractive programs of current affairs of the interest of the general listeners including a program of youths, Radio Forum and Radio Press conference depicting the problems of the general public and their proposed solutions as well as an exclusive program of children entitled Honahaar. 

Since its inception from September 30, 2002 AJK Radio Mirpur is bringing its daily formal transmissions on air comprising attractive informatory and entertainment programs in Gojri, Pahari, Kashmiri and Urdu languages including the news and current affairs programs in an excellent manner.
