Pakistan Medical & Dental Association grants recognition to seven Chinese Medical Universities |

BEIJING, AUG 11 (APP): Pakistan Medical & Dental
Association (PMDC) has approved seven Chinese medical universities for medicine
studies for Pakistani students. Graduates from these universities will no more be required
to pass any additional examination to get practice license in Pakistan. The recognition came during a meeting of the special task
force on China in July which was chaired by President of Pakistan Asif Ali
Zardari.

“The decision meets a longstanding demand of the medical
students in China”, Masood Khan, Pakistan Ambassador to China, told APP Tuesday.
He pointed out that the decision was being communicated to
the Presidents of these Universities.
“This is a step in the right direction”, said Ambassador
Khan while expressing thanks to Pakistan Ministry of Health and PMDC.
He further said that this step will increase the number of
Pakistani students in Chinese medical universities which are internationally
competitive.
Currently there are more than 5000 Pakistani students in
China, most of them are studying in medicine.
The seven universities recongnized by PMDC include
Peking Union Medical College, Beijing medical university, Shanghai medical
university, Shanghai second medical university, School of stomatology, Shanghai second
medical university, School of medicine of Xian Jiaotong university and Xinjiang
medical university.
