City judge orders registration of FIR against Musharraf |

ISLAMABAD, Aug 10 (APP):
Additional Sessions Judge Islamabad Mohammad Akmal Khan here Monday issued
direction to concerned police station to register an FIR against former
president Pervez Musharraf for allegedly keeping judges of superior judiciary
under house arrest. The Judge issued direction on a
pending plea of Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam Ghuman advocate.
The judge in his short order
observed that the respondent was liable to be tried under various legal and
criminal provisions.
The court had already adjourned
the case for twelve times in a span of five months and further adjournment over
the issue was denied, he added.
He also directed dispatching of
copies of order to IG Police, SSP and Police Station Secretariat.
The appellant had maintained
that former head of state had illegally detained seven judges of superior
judiciary including Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry after
proclamation of emergency on November 3, 2007.
He said besides, their whole
family members and children also suffered from the criminal act.
He requested the court to issue
direction for initiation of criminal proceedings against Pervez Musharraf and
those who implemented his illegal and unconstitutional act.
