ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Babar Awan on Tuesday urged the
political forces to avoid confrontational politics and resolve the issues
through dialogue to take the country out of crisis. Talking to the media in Taxila,
he pointed out that there is dire need to promote harmony among the political
forces to cope with the challenges the country is currently facing.
Commenting over the performance
of the government during the last 15 months, he maintained that PPP-led
coalition had given a clear-cut road map and put the country in the right
direction in order to save the future of the nation.
“PPP-government is honored to
take the country from the hazard of dictatorship, establishing respect in
international community and brought Pakistan out of isolation”, Babar Awan said,
adding that international powers had fully understood the version of Pakistan on
global issues and exempted it in the list of terrorist countries.
He appreciated the role of
Parliament, saying “Parliament has resolved many major issues in its short
tenure”. He said that it was a sense of satisfaction for all of us that the
country’s issues had been discussed in Parliament rather being by-passed by any
of the dictators.
He, however, lamented that some
forces are out to stabilize the system but they would not succeed in their
designs because the government was enjoying the complete support of the masses.
The Minister also expressed
satisfaction over ‘stable economy’, saying that economy had always remained the
top agenda of the government and in this regard President’s effort are laudable.
“Pakistan’s foreign reserves
are continuously increasing and its results will appear next year”, he said,
adding that we believe in ‘action’ rather than ‘raising slogans only’.
He denounced the propaganda
that Pakistan may be declared as a fail state.
“We have established Parliament
and successfully restored democracy - a proof that Pakistan is no more facing
the threat of failed state”.
Babar Awan said that Pakistan
People’s Party had established a ‘remarkable change’ in the history of Pakistan
and “people will get its true implication after completion of five-year tenure
of the democratic government.
Meanwhile the minister condoled
the death of Prof. Sehrash Awan, the daughter of his friend Zawar Awan and
prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant
courage to the members of the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.
