16 more terrorists killed in Operation Rah-e-Rast |

ISLAMABAD, May 19 (APP): The
security forces during the last 24 hours have killed 16 more miscreants
as part of the Operation Rah-e-Rast that is making headway as planned. According to an ISPR update
issued on Tuesday, an officer and three soldiers embraced shahadat and 16 others
including an officer were injured in clashes with the miscreants in different
parts of Malakand Division.
In Peochar, the security forces
are consolidating their positions in the valley by conducting search and destroy
operations. During clashes one soldier got injured while 2 miscreant-terrorists
were killed.
As far as the situation in
Matta is concerned, the security forces have surrounded and are conducting
cordon and search operations inside the town where exchange of fire took place
between security forces and miscreant-terrorists.
Resultantly, one officer (Maj
Abid) and one soldier embraced shahadat while seven soldiers were injured near
Nazarabad, north of Matta.
The troops have successfully
got cleared more than 40 houses in Kanju and area ahead of Takhtaband
bridge where fierce clashes are taking place at both places. Some 14 miscreants were
killed during exchange of fire with security forces at Takhtaband, while two
soldiers embraced shahadat and eight others were injured.
The operation to clear
Sultanwas in Buner is continuing where the security forces are conducting cordon
and search operations in various parts.
