ISLAMABAD, May 15 (APP):
Minister for Defence Ahmad Mukhtar Friday said the military operation against
the miscreants was going successfully as per plan, however, no timeframe could
be given in this regard. In an exclusive talk with the
APP, Ahmad Mukhtar said this was upto the army officials to evolve strategy to
carry out the operation and he could not make a comment over it.
“The army is clearing the areas
gradually and no timeframe could be given in this regard,” he added.
To a question about reports of
collateral damage due to the army operation, the Defence Minister said the army
officials were making utmost efforts to avoid collateral damage during the
operation.
The heavy artillery is only
used to pound the militants hideouts and avoiding the collateral damage is top
priority, he added.
He said the terrorists were not
Pakistanis and they had their own agenda as no Pakistani could ever think of
beheading the fellow Muslims and killing the innocent people.
