China set to become 4th biggest trade partner of Pakistan: MOFCOM official -

BEIJING, Feb 9 (APP): China is becoming the 4th biggest trade partner of Pakistan, said here a senior Chinese official from Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).Addressing the Pakistan-China Trade Promotion Seminar at Pakistan Embassy, Ouyang Cheng of Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs of Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said both sides enhanced exports after the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

UK Border Agency accept AJK marriage certificates -

LONDON, Feb 09 (APP)- The UK Border Agency has communicated to Lord Nazir Ahmed, a member of the British Upper House, that it accepts Nikah Khawani certificates from Azad Kashmir as a proof of valid marriage.“I am able to inform you that following legal advice, Nikah Khawani certificates from AJK are now accepted as proof of a valid marriage by our UK Visa Section which processes settlement applications from Pakistan. Nikah Khawanis from any other region of Pakistan are not accepted and a Nikah Nama is still required in such cases,”

DHAKA, Feb. 09 (APP): The 11th edition of South Asian Games ended here on Tuesday evening amid fanfare, cultural show and dazzling firework which brightened the whole of Bangladesh capital.A crowd of around 20,000 was sent into ecstasy with brilliant display of laser-beam show and colorful firework which brought the curtains down in the 12-day regional sporting gala dominated by the Indian athletes.

Bomb blast kills constable Faisal Khan

ISLAMABAD, Mar 23 (APP): Constable Faisal Khan embraced shahadat on Monday when he foiled the attempt of an anonymous person trying to enter the Special Branch Lines located in Sitara Market.

According to a Press Note issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, an unidentified individual blew himself up when Duty Guard No. 2496 Constable Faisal Khan stopped him from entering the Special Branch Lines.

A computer operator Muhammad Karim Butt suffered minor injuries in the blast, it added.

Following is the text of the Press Note:

“On March 23 An anonymous individual tried to enter Special Branch Lines located in G7/2 near Sitara Market. The duty guard No.2496 Constable Faisal Khan tried to stop the individual. On facing resistance by duty guard, the individual detonated himself.

Resultantly, No.2496 Constable Faisal Khan embraced Shahadat on spot and Computer Operator Muhammad Karim Butt received minor injuries.

The rescue and relief services immediately responded to the situation and reached the spot. The injured was shifted to the Hospital at once.

FIR has been launched in Abpara Police Station and further probe is being carried out.”
