PESHAWAR, Feb 15 (APP): Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Faisal Karim
Kundi said Sunday that government was utilizing
all available resources for completion of peoples’ welfare projects aimed at to
provide all basic amenities of life to masses at their doorsteps.
“The government is working on a broad based strategy to bring socio‑economic
improvement in lives of downtrodden and poor people,” he said while addressing
the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed bridge at Bagwatai at Tehil
Paharpur in DI Khan district. The bridge has been constructed at a cost of Rs.20
million.
The construction of the bridge was the long awaited demand of people of the
area, which was fulfilled today by the present elected government of PPP, he
added.
The Deputy Speaker said the present elected government believed in the country’s
uniformed development and was striving hard to bring less developed areas at par
with developed parts of the country.
The present popular government is committed to bring revolutionary changes in
all sectors including communication to put the country on road to progress and
prosperity besides bringing positive improvement in the lifestyle of common man.
After provision of gas facility to DI Khan, he said that the same facility would
also be provided to Paharpur and adjoining areas soon.
Mr. Kundi said that establishment of peace was in the priority list of the
government and that the present regime will never compromise on its writ. He
welcomed the positive advancement in negotiations started by NWFP government for
restoration of durable peace in militancy‑hit Swat valley. The
federal government will extend full support to NWFP government in this
connection, he added.
He said the secret of peoples’ prosperity and happiness lied in establishment of
peace and added that PPP government was striving hard for establishment of long
lasting peace in NWFP including DI Khan and the country in general.
Mr. Kundi said that peace is must for attracting maximum foreign investment in
the country. The Deputy Speaker urged people belonging to every segment of the
society to strengthen government hands for peace and development of DI Khan and
to frustrate the nefarious designs of anti‑state elements.
Earlier, Ahmed Khan Kundi, Nazim Union Council Bagoti welcomed the Deputy
Speaker and thanked him for taking keen interest in development of DI Khan.
