PM Gilani congratulates Sri Lanka team |

LAHORE, Jan 24 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has
appreciated the gesture of Sri Lankan Government for sending its cricket team to paly three one‑day match series in
Pakistan. “ I
am thankful to the Sri Lankan Government for its decision to send its cricket team to help Pakistan resume its international cricket “, he said here at Gadaffi stadium while speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of the third and last
one day international which Sri Lanka won by 234 runs.

Congratulating Sri Lankan Team for winning the series, the
Prime Minister appreciated their standard of game and said
“you provided great entertainment to the people.”
The
Prime Minister said that the people and government of Pakistan attach great importance to relations with Sri Lanka and
have great regard for people and government of the friendly country.
He
said presence of large number of spectators is reflective of their love for the cricketers from the friendly country as well as of the fact that they enjoyed the game fully.
The
Prime Minister praised the role of Lankan team for playing cricket matches at Karachi and Lahore.
“ I
pay tribute to the administrations of both the cities of Karachi and Lahore for providing security to the participating teams and the people who watched the matches “,he
said adding “ I also congratulate the people of Lahore for
their participation in large number in watching the match.
The
Prime Minister while lifting the morale of Pak team
players said” they should not feel disappointed with the defeat and try to do better in future “.
