LARKANA,
Oct 21 (APP): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Tuesday inaugurated
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Open Air Theatre built at a cost of Rs. 39.566 million
at Sachal Colony here. Speaking on
the occasion the Chief Minister said the people of Larkana were experiencing
a congested climate and it was necessary to provide them recreational places.
He hoped
that the inauguration of the Open Air Theatre will provide recreational
facilities to the people of Larkana, as it is a city of Shuhada (martyrs) and
the historical national heritage in the form of Moenjodaro is also located in
Larkana. It is our duty to protect Moenjodaro in the interest of people of the
country and the tourists who visit it from abroad.
He said a
comprehensive short term/ long term plan was prepared to protect Moenjodaro at
any cost which in conformity with demand of people of the area.
The
Chief Minister informed the audience that the Gorakh Hill is also a
historical place and many tourists visit the Gorakh Hill. The Culture and Tourism
Department is making all out efforts to develop the Gorakh Hill and all possible
facilities will be provided at this place so that the tourists are
facilitated, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said.
He also
said plots will be provided to the people. Besides, commercial plots will be
developed so that the private sector may be able to open restaurants and hotels
for the tourists.
On the
occasion Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro spoke high about the benefits
of Open Air Theatre and said the youth will be benefited by this recreational
facility. In the theatre dramas and seminars will also be arranged, where about
1500 people can sit at one time.
On the
occasion Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism Ms Sasui Palejo said the
Open Air Theatre was established in accordance with the will of Shaheed
Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. She appreciated the efforts of Dr. Faryal Talpur MNA
for expeditious completion of the Open Air Theatre in the interest of the
people of Larkana.
The
Minister for Culture and Tourism further said a gift in shape of Arts Council
will be provided to the people of Larkana.
She further
said the government of Sindh has approved the establishmwent of Shaheed
Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Museum near Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library here.
She also
said Larkana will be provided all facilities and the district will be counted
as a model district in the country which was the dream of Shaheed Mohtarma
Benazir Bhutto.
Earlier,
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah inaugurated the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto
Open Air Theatre amid a ribbon cutting ceremony. He also unveiled a plaque of
the Theatre on the occasion.

Ex-MNA Muhammad Anwar Bhutto, President LCCI Hafiz Muhammad Suleman Shaikh, RPO
Sukkur Police Region Muhammad Ramzan Channa, high officials, notables of the
area, PPP leaders and workers, were present on the occasion.
