China set to become 4th biggest trade partner of Pakistan: MOFCOM official -
BEIJING, Feb 9 (APP): China is becoming the 4th biggest trade partner of Pakistan, said here a senior Chinese official from Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).Addressing the Pakistan-China Trade Promotion Seminar at Pakistan Embassy, Ouyang Cheng of Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs of Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said both sides enhanced exports after the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).


UK Border Agency accept AJK marriage certificates -
LONDON, Feb 09 (APP)- The UK Border Agency has communicated to Lord Nazir Ahmed, a member of the British Upper House, that it accepts Nikah Khawani certificates from Azad Kashmir as a proof of  valid marriage.“I am able to inform you that following legal advice, Nikah Khawani certificates from AJK are now accepted as proof of a valid marriage by our UK Visa Section which processes settlement applications from Pakistan. Nikah Khawanis from any other region of Pakistan are not accepted and a Nikah Nama is still required in such cases,”

South Asian Games ends at grand closing ceremony amid dazzling firework

DHAKA, Feb. 09 (APP): The 11th edition of South Asian Games ended here on Tuesday evening amid fanfare, cultural show and dazzling firework which brightened the whole of Bangladesh capital.A crowd of around 20,000 was sent into ecstasy with brilliant display of laser-beam show and colorful firework which brought the curtains down in the 12-day regional sporting gala dominated by the Indian athletes.

Naseem’s feat - a proof Pak women not behind in sports

Sindh CM inaugurates Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Open Air Theatre PDF Print E-mail

LARKANA, Oct  21 (APP):  Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Tuesday inaugurated Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Open Air Theatre built at  a cost of Rs. 39.566 million at Sachal Colony here. Speaking on the occasion  the Chief Minister said  the people of Larkana were experiencing  a congested climate and it was  necessary to provide  them  recreational places.

He hoped that the inauguration of the Open Air Theatre  will provide recreational facilities to the people of Larkana, as it is a city of Shuhada (martyrs) and the  historical national heritage in the form of Moenjodaro is also located in Larkana. It is our duty to protect Moenjodaro in the interest of  people of the country and the tourists who  visit it  from abroad.

He said  a comprehensive short term/ long term plan was prepared to protect  Moenjodaro at any cost which in conformity with  demand of  people of the area.

The Chief Minister informed the audience that the Gorakh Hill is also a historical place and many tourists visit  the Gorakh Hill. The Culture and Tourism Department is making all out efforts to develop the Gorakh Hill and all possible facilities will be provided at this place  so that the tourists are  facilitated, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said.

He also said  plots will be provided to the people. Besides, commercial plots will be developed so that the private sector may be able to open restaurants and  hotels for the tourists.

On the occasion Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro spoke high about the benefits of Open Air Theatre  and said the youth will be benefited by  this recreational facility. In the theatre dramas and seminars will also be arranged, where about 1500 people can sit at one time.

On the occasion  Provincial Minister for Culture and  Tourism Ms Sasui Palejo said  the Open Air Theatre  was established in accordance with the will of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. She appreciated the efforts of Dr. Faryal Talpur MNA for expeditious completion of  the  Open Air Theatre in the interest of the people of Larkana.

The Minister for Culture and  Tourism further said  a gift in shape of  Arts Council will be provided to the people of Larkana.

She further said  the government of Sindh has approved the establishmwent of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Museum near Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library here. 

She also said  Larkana will be provided all facilities and the district will be counted as a model district in the country which was the dream of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Earlier,  Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah  inaugurated the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Open Air Theatre amid  a ribbon cutting ceremony. He also unveiled a plaque  of the Theatre on the occasion.

Provincial  Ministers Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Ms. Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto, Sindh Secretary Culture  Sham Jaffrani, DCO Larkana Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Ex-ambassador to UAE Abdul Razzak Soomro, MPA Haji Munawwar Ali Abbasi, MPA Sarai Ghulam Sarwar Siyal, Ex-MNA Muhammad Anwar Bhutto, President LCCI Hafiz Muhammad Suleman Shaikh,  RPO Sukkur Police Region Muhammad Ramzan Channa, high officials, notables of the area, PPP leaders and workers, were present on the occasion.
