6 killed, 20 injured, 3 banks burnt to ashes in Mingora violent skirmishes |

SWAT, Sept
23 (APP): At least six persons were killed and 20 others injured while three
branches of various commercial banks were set on fire during the day-long
violent skirmishes between the angry mob and the local police against continuous
unrest, power and gas outages in the restive Swat valley on Tuesday.
The
officials of local police told reporters that the unruly mob went on rampage and
clashed with the police protesting against the lawlessness, continuous power and
gas outages in Mingora city for the last couple of days.
As result
of clashes and firing incidents at various squares of Mingora city, at least six
persons including Gafoor Shah, Safadar Ali, Asadullah Khan, nazir and Shamsher
ALi were killed while 20 wounded. The injured have been shifted to Saidu Sharif
hospital for treatment.
The unruly
mob torched the branches of the National Bank, Khushali Bank, and Faisal Bank,
he added. The lorries of the fire brigade rushed to the site to extinguish the
fire. They also damaged other state property in the vicinity. To control the
situation the administration clamped a curfew.
Meanwhile
three rockets were fired late last night at security forces check post in
Charbagh area, However no loss to life or property reported. Police and law
enforcing agencies are patrolling in the area to avoid any untoward mishap.
