PESHAWAR Sept 23 (APP): At least 50 militants were killed and one security personnel embraced Shahadat in two days clashes between miscreants and security forces in restive Darra Adamkhel area, some 45 kilometer south of provincial capital, a military official said Tuesday.
“At least 50 militants were eliminated and one soldier was martyred in two days clashes in Darra Adamkhel,” ISPR Spokesman Maj Murad Khan told APP.
He said that Security Forces backed by gunship helicopters and artillery have taken full control of the Kohat Friendship tunnel that connects Peshawar with southern districts of NWFP. It may be recalled that Kohat tunnel was severely damaged when militants had blasted explosive laden truck in tunnel few months back. To avoid any damage to the friendship tunnel, the law enforcing agencies moved against the militants to flush them out from the area.
