ISLAMABAD,
Sep 1 (APP): Three suspects of killing three young girls under “Karo Kari”
allegations in Nasirabad district of Balochistan have been arrested, advisor to
prime minister on interior affairs Rehman A. Malik told Senate on Monday.
Those
arrested included Umaid, Qaisar and Inam Khan while investigation to identify
the nature of crime and cause of death was underway, Rehman Malik said, adding,”
complete report will be presented before the House within three days.”
The advisor
said as per reports received through different sources young girls including
Fozia,Fatima and Janat Bibi had reportedly went from Nasirabad to Osta Muhammad
in Taxi of police constable Shah Mehmood and Subhan Chandio was driving it.
Later, a
relative of the girls Murad Balwani, informed the family elders of the girls,
who brought them back to Mirwah area and the girls were killed after three days
in jurisdiction of Garhi Rehman Police Station, Rehman Malik said quoting the
report.
“Meanwhile,
the police report says these girls were killed with pistol and shot gun after
exchange of harsh words with family members during conflict over distribution of
property,” he said. “However, we have rejected the police report,” he added.
Rehman
Malik condemned the grave incident and said Pakistan Peoples Party has always
been struggling for upholding women rights.
“I myself
went to Quetta and directed the IGP to submit report after thorough
investigation,” he told the House.
Law of land
will take the course and the culprits will be punished. However, the case needs
thorough investigation as different reports are coming around, the advisor said.
But we
cannot reach a conclusion about cause of death and other factors till the bodies
are exhumed. “Therefore, give us time for forensic analysis.”
Similarly,
the provincial authorities have also been directed to submit other details
including national identity cards to verify ages and parentage of the murdered
girls.
Balochistan
High Court is also probing the incident after taking suo moto notice, so the
matter is subjudice, the advisor informed.
Rehman
Malik said gender crime in Pakistan was high, therefore an IG level officer has
been directed to be appointed in Police Foundation to assist for legislation to
stop such incidents of honor killing.
