KARACHI,
Aug 5 (APP)- Nazim SITE Town, Izharuddin has called for effective cleanliness
and lighting arrangements at graveyards, shrines and Masajid on the occasion of
sacred Shab-e-Barat.
Addressing
a meeting of UC Nazims and Naib Nazims and Councillors at SITE Town Council
Tuesday, Izhar told them that monsoon rains have started and as such drainage
systen in respective UCs should be further improved and cleaning of sewerage
drains, nullahs and gutters be completed on priority.
He said
that besides graveyards and Masajid, improved sanitary conditions should also be
maintained in streets and mohallahs and sewerage water should not be allowed to
accumulate.
SITE Town
Nazim asked police to ensure better traffic arrangements on Shab-e-Barat so that
no inconvenience is caused to people visiting shrines, graveyard and masajid.
He appealed
to people to avoid fireworks on this sacred night so that people could offer
prayers uninterrupted.
Izharuddin
pointed out that people arrange lightings in graveyards through electricians who
leave live wires open. He cautioned that it is rainy season and, therefore, live
wires should not be left in the open as a little carelessness can result in a
mishap.
He urged
KESC not to resort to loadshedding on this sacred night and ensure uninterrupted
power supply.
