Upper limb of suicide bomber recovered:Rehman Malik |

ISLAMABAD, July 6 (APP): Advisor to Prime Minister on
Interior A Rehman Malik said on Sunday, the upper limb of the suicide bomber has
been recovered from the site of the Melody blast and investigation process would
be carried out on this basis. He stated this while talking to the news persons, after
visiting the injured persons of the Melody blast here at Federal Government
Services Hospital (FGSH) Sunday night. He was accompanied by the Secretary Interior Syed Kamal
Shah, IGP and DIGP Islamabad and senior police officials.
“We have recovered the upper limb of the suicide bomber of
Melody blast and we would carry out investigation on this basis”, he remarked.
He also announce that those who would inform about the
suicide bomber and give his identification be given compensation of Rs 5
million.
He added that in the Lal Masjid conference over 10,000
ulema attended who were given full security and protection during the sessions.
He said that ulema themselves have appreciated the security
arrangements of the government but the unfortunate incident took place in Melody
when the conference was concluded.
Rehman Malik said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza
Gilani has ordered an immediate inquiry into the blast and constituted a
committee to probe the incident.
“The blast was a conspiracy against Pakistan and to
intimidate people of Pakistan”, he remarked.
He said that under the directives of the Prime
Minister the legal heirs martyrs of the blast would get a compensation of
Rs.1.3 million each, while the injured would get a compensation of Rs.200,000 each.
He denied that the Melody blast was a result of any
security lapse adding that foolproof arrangements were made for the participants
of the Lal Masjid conference.
He added that incidents of suicide bombing were reduced
after coming into power of the present government.
Replying to a question, he said that actions in FATA area
were taken on the consent and request of the people of the area to flush out
militants from the region.
The Advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik
lauded the sacrifices of the police who lost their lives or injured for the
cause of their motherland.
