LAHORE,April 17, (APP): Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa, the youngest Chief Minister of the largest province of the country, will take vote of confidence from Punjab Assembly under article 130(3) of the constitution tomorrow (Friday). Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa son of ex-Governor and provincial President of PML-N Punjab Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa was born in D.G. Khan on October 22, 1973.
He received primary education from Aitchison College Lahore and secondary education from Government College Lahore and graduated from Punjab University, Lahore.
Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa is the 20th chief executive of the province while Iftikhar Hussain Khan was the first Punjab Chief Minister who held this slot from August 15, 1947 to January 25, 1949.
Mian Mumtaz Daultana, a landlord and veteran politician remained chief minister of the Punjab from April 15, 1951 to April 3, 1953.
Feroz Khan Noon was the third Chief Minister and held the coveted office from April 3, 1953 to May 21, 1955 while Abdul Hamid Khan Dasti held it from May 21, 1955 to October 14, 1955.
The post was abolished on october 14, 1955 to June 30, 1970 as Part of West Pakistan province .
After revival of the office of chief Minister following elections in 1971 Malik Meraj Khalid was elected as Chief Executive of the province.He remained CM from May 2, 1972 to November 12, 1973.
Ghulam Mustafa Khar held the office for about five months from November 12, 1973 March 15, 1974 while Hanif Ramay remained as CM for 16 months from March 15, 1974 to July 15, 1975.
Sadiq Hussain Qureshi was 8th chief executive of the province from July 15, 1975 to July 5, 1977 when Martial law was imposed in the country by the then Chief of Army Staff General Ziaul Haq.
The office of chief minister of the province was revived following partyless elections in 1985 and Nawaz Sharif was elected as CM who held the post from April 9, 1985 to August 13, 1990.
Ghulam Haider Wyne was 10th CM of the province and remained in office from November 8, 1990 to April 25, 1993.
Mian Manzoor Watto is the only politician having honour of holding office of chief executive of the province thrice from April 25, 1993 July 19, 1993, 2nd time from October 20, 1993 to September 13, 1995 and third time from November 3, 1996 to November 16, 1996.
Manzoor Elahi was appointed as caretaker chief minister and remained in office from July 19, 1993 to October 20, 1993.
Sardar Arif Nakai held the coveted office from September 13, 1995 to November 3, 1996 while Mian Muhammad Afzal Hayat remained as caretaker Chief Minister from November 16, 1996 to February 20, 1997.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who held the office of CM for about two and a half years from February 20, 1997 October 12, 1999, will assume charge as provincial Chief executive after he reaches assembly through bye-elections to be held on June 18.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi remained Chief Minister for five years from November 29, 2002 to November 18, 2007 while Shiekh Ejaz Nisar took over as caretaker Chief Minister on November 19, 2007 and held the slot till Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa assumed chagre as Chief Minister.
