DHAKA, May 23 (APP) :- A
platform of Islamic parties grouped under Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) has
demanded the Bangladesh government of banning Facebook in Bangladesh for
organizing cartoon competition of great prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM). The demand
was made by Dhaka chapter of IAB president Prof ATM Hemayetuddin while
addressing a protest meeting organized by the party in Dhaka Sunday evening
against the move to hold cartoon competition of Prophet Muhammad (SM).
He said Bangladesh is a country
of 90 percent Muslims and the government will have to register strong protest
against such move on behalf of Rasul-loving (Muhammad (SM)) people.
The IAB leader further asked
the government to carryout diplomatic efforts on behalf of Bangladesh to arrest
the cartoon competition organizer.
Otherwise he cautioned that
they along with Rasul-loving people will siege the Foreign Ministry and if
necessary they will seize the Swedish Embassy in Dhaka.
