Pakistan bt South Africa to move in SF of Champions Challenge Cup
SALTA,ARGENTINA, Dec 10 (APP)  Pakistan launched a rare guard action  in second half to rout South Africa 4 1 and breezed into the semi finals  of Champions Challenge Cup here on Thursday at Popeye baseball club. After  1 1 at first half, the green shirts demonstrated prime form to edge past  their opponents  with a fury of attacks, hammering two goals in space of four minutes taking 3 1 lead which diminished the spirit of their high speed opponents. From Pakistan young left winger Muhammad Irfan made his debut in international hockey. Pakistani team came with full force and renewed pledge to add their three goals of the second half in 15 minutes  in the second half which revealed their domination and aggression and quest for hunting goals.

Wasim Akram for proper monitoring of private hospitals
ISLAMABAD, Dec 10 (APP): Former Captain National Cricket team Wasim Akram on Thursday said there should be a regulatory body to check functioning of private hospitals in the country. “I am here to get justice, the way doctors treated my wife
was disappointing during her hospitalization, Wasim Akram said  talking to journalists here after attending the meeting of National  Assembly’s Standing Committee on Health. He however added “I am satisfied with the steps being taken by Minister Health and the Secretary in Huma’s case.

English women’s cricket team honoured
LONDON, Dec 10 (APP)  The England women’s cricket team was honoured at the Sports Journalists’ Association Awards here last evening, winning the prestigious Team of the Year award. The award recognises a superb year that has seen the team crowned double world champions, at the ICC World Cup and the ICC World Twenty20, retain the Ashes and defeat Australia 4 0 in the NatWest One Day International Series.

Butt happy for visa approval, but uncertainty still looms for Pak players
ISLAMABAD, Dec 10 (APP): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ijaz Butt on Thursday expressed happiness over Pakistan players’ visa approvals to play in Indian Premier League 2010. “I am happy that visas have been granted,” NDTV quoted him as saying. Butt said that he had been in talks with IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi over visa and other cricket matters. “I have been in constant touch with Modi”.
