Efforts to be made to make `Hajj 2017′ a big success: Minister


ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP): Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yusuf Wednesday said the government would continue its efforts to facilitate the Hajj pilgrims and make `Hajj 2017′ a big success.
Addressing the `Post Hajj 2016 Workshop’ arranged by Hajj
Operators Association of Pakistan (HOAP) held here, the minister
said “serving Hajj and Umrah pilgrims was an act of virtuousness and
the present government had facilitated the pilgrims during the Hajj
2016 with utmost sincerity”.
He said, `Hajj and Umrah Operation Act’ would be presented soon
in the Parliament for approval and this initiative would help Hajj
pilgrims resolve their issues.
This Act would also help pilgrims to get rid of those agents who loot money from them, he added.
He congratulated the Hajj operators for making Hajj 2016 as a great success and said “It was a challenge to come up with the expectations of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in terms of facilitating Hajj pilgrims and making this activity more successful”.
During the previous government’s tenure, he said, Hajj pilgrims expressed dissatisfaction over the Hajj arrangements;
however, the constant efforts of the present government to facilitate the Hajj pilgrims during the last three years helped rebuild their confidence.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has now announced four
month bonus salary for the staff of Ministry of Religious Affairs in
recognition of their dedicated services towards making `Hajj 2016′
a successful activity, he said.
Prime Minister has also approved a post of Director Hajj at Madina Munawara to look into the Hajj arrangements there, the minister said.
The minister expressed his commitment to make country’s Zakat
system more viable and also provide guidelines to the government to
run the country’s affairs in the light of Islami teachings.
He said a meeting will be held with the Saudi Authorities
regarding “Hajj Policy” by the month of January and the suggestions
sought from this workshop will also be incorporated in the policy.
Leader, Pakistan Muslim League (N), Captain (retd) Safdar
said, “if any one can prove corruption of a single penny during the
present government’s tenure, we will be ready to bear any unishment”.
Captain (retd) Safdar said the present government’s vision to
construct Gwadar Kashghar Motorway would make the country’s economy stronger and independent.
Some elements were trying to push the country into quagmire however “we will not let them get success in their nefarious designs”, he said.
He congratulated the team of Ministry of Religious Affairs and HOAP who have put their efforts to make `Hajj 2016′ a successful event.
Chairman, HOAP, Sanaullah said today’s workshop was arranged to
get the feedback from the Hajj pilgrims to make the next year’s Hajj operation more successful.
Due to successful Hajj 2016 operation, Saudi authorities were now seeking suggestions from us to make Hajj Operation better. For
this purpose, a Research Wing has been established within HOAP to
prepare guidelines, he said.
The officials of the ministry, HOAP and Hajj pilgrims from across the country attended the workshop and have their valuable inputs.
