LAHORE, July 15 (APP): Men, women and children of Lahore Friday thronged to the roads to express complete solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Indian occupied Kashmir.
Lahorites observed protest day to condemn atrocities of Indian forces on Kashmiris by taking part in a number of protest demonstrations organized by various religious and political parties besides the trade community.
On the appeal of Ameer Jamat e Islami Pakistan Senator Siraj-ul-Haq, Lahore chapter of JI staged a big protest demonstration against the brutalities of the Indian troops upon the people of occupied Kashmir. They also offered “Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza” of Burhan Muzaffar Wani and other martyrs who lost their lives as a result of torture and firing of Indian forces.
JI Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq addressing the Friday congregation proposed that delegations comprising representatives from all political parties should be sent to the Muslim as well as western countries for building world
opinion on the Kashmir issue.
He announced that the JI would stage Kashmir Liberation march from the Punjab capital to Wagha Border on July 31 to draw the world attention to the worsening situation in Held Kashmir.
PML-N Lahore, PML-N AJK and Global Alliance for Kashmir staged a demonstration at the Lahore Press Club and condemned Indian brutalities in Held Kashmir.
The protesters carrying banners and placards chanted slogans against New Delhi, calling for immediate halt to high-handedness against innocent Kashmiris.
Addressing the participants, PML-N AJK Women Wing General Secretary Dr Farzana Nazir, MPA, Vice-President Parveen, Ghulam Abbas Mir, PML-N candidate for LA-37 Valley-II Lahore seat, Dr Rauf, said that a ‘Condemnation Day’ was being observed across Pakistan against Indian atrocities in occupied territory and to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people struggling for their right to self-determination.
They said the PML-N government was highlighting the Kashmir issue at all international fora. They said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, during his recent address to the United Nations Security Council, presented bold stand of Pakistan on Kashmir.
Traders of Lahore also staged a protest demonstration at the Mall and strongly condemned the Indian aggression against Kashmiri people. They expressed solidarity with the oppressed men, women and children in occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan People’s Party staged a demonstration to express solidarity with Kashmiris at the Lahore Press Club. PPP leaders including Samina Ghurki, Umer Sharif, Barrister Amir, Muhammad Ayub and a large number of PPP workers participated in the protest.
The protestors were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans against atrocities of Indian forces on Kashmiris in held Kashmir. They also raised slogans against the Modi government.
Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) also staged a protest demonstration against brutalities of the Indian occupational forces in the held valley.
Speaking on the occasion, the party leaders, Maulana Muhammad Amjad Khan, Maulana Saifuddin Saif and others, said that Kashmiris were fighting for their self-determination for the last many decades and they had rendered sacrifices for their cause. They urged the international community to take notice of the Indian atrocities and resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
Pakistan Sunni Tehrik (PST) observed protest day across the country against the atrocities of Indian army in occupied Kashmir and terrorist blasts in Saudi Arabia.
Workers of PST Lahore staged a protest demonstration outside Data Darbar Bhatti Gate after Juma prayer to express solidarity with Kashmiris. Addressing on the occasion, PST City leader Maulana Mujahid Ghulam Rasool and other speakers condemned the killing of Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir.
Jamiat Mushaikh Pakistan also passed condemn resolutions in mosques after Juma prayers to condemn the Indian forces.
Jamiat Ahle Hadith Pakistan (JEP) and Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) observed Friday as protest day across the provincial capital against atrocities of Indian forces on Kashmiri people. After Juma prayer, JEP staged a protest demonstration at Lawrence Road which was attended by a large number of people from various walks of life. JEP Chief Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer addressing the participants strongly condemned the use of force against people of Kashmir. He urged the Pakistan government, OIC and international community to utilize their influence to resolve the Kashmir issue. He also expressed solidarity with the Saudi Arabia government and vowed to give sacrifices for the defence of Harmain e Sharifain.
Meanwhile, PUC also organized rallies and protests against the Indian aggression across the city.
Addressing a big rally, PUC Chairman Allama Tahir Ashrafi strongly condemned the Indian army for genocide of the Kashmir masses. He expressed complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people against Indian aggression.
A number of student bodies including Islami Jamiat Tulaba, Ahle Hadith students organization and Anjuman Tulaba Islam also organized rallies to condemn Indian aggression.
The speakers, addressing the rallies and demonstration urged the international community to take stock of the situation, arising out of the killing of key Kashmiri leaders and innocent citizens at the hands of the Indian armed forces.
They also called for resolving the lingering issue of Kashmir in accordance with the resolutions of UN Security Council.
