LAHORE, Feb 21 (APP)::Information and Culture Minister Punjab Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan said Pakistan did not face any political isolation on international front, rather the country has achieved new levels of diplomatic success and dignity in the comity of nations.
Talking to media persons outside Punjab Assembly here on Thursday, he said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has set new standards on the diplomatic front, adding that the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and vigilant diplomacy by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi enabled the US and Taliban to sit on one table.
He said US President Donald Trump expressed his desire to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan, while the European governments hailed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision and his government’s policies.
He said Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia and China endorsed the policies of the PTI government, adding that it was after a lapse of almost two decades that the British Airways decided to resume its service from Pakistan.
To a question, he said PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s views regarding isolation of the government symbolised his own political situation, adding that he was abandoned by his own people.
To another question, the Minister said Asif Ali Zardari was a master of corruption whose life was linked with men like Agha Siraj Durrani, Muzaffar Tuppy and Ayaan Ali.
Regarding Nawaz Sharif’s statement quoted by the Indian legal team at the International Court of Justice in the Kalbhushan Yadev case, the Information Minister said Pakistani people felt ashamed due to the statement of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
About PPP’s objections to transfer of NAB case to Islamabad, Chohan said he did not believe in linguistic based division of the country, adding that Quetta, Peshawar, Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore were all parts of Pakistan.
To a query, he said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was mandated to initiate action without any discrimination be it Speaker Provincial Assembly or a senior minister,adding that NAB was conceived and created by PML-N and PPP governments,and PTI had nothing to do with its working.
