ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP):Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter Faith Harmony on Tuesday organized an event here at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) to celebrate ‘Holi’.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noor ul Haq Qadri was the chief guest on the occasion.

The Holi celebration was attended by Parliamentary Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter Faith Harmony Aftab Jehangir, Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Human Rights Lal Chand Malhi, MNA Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Senator Dr Ashok Kumar, MNA Shanila Roth, MNA Jamshed Thomas, MNA James Iqbal and Hindu religious leader Pandit Channa Lal.  

Felicitating Hindu community on Holi, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter Faith Harmony Pir Noor ul Haq Qadri said he felt pleasure that they all were together on the occasion of Holi.

He said Holi was the festival of colors, rejuvenate the spirit of fun, freedom, love, respect and happiness to blend myths with religion for promoting harmony.

He said minorities had always played a vital role in the progress and prosperity of the country.

“We all would work together for the progress and prosperity of the country as Pakistan is our joint home,” he said.

Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Human Rights MNA Lal Chand Malhi in his remarks thanked the ministry of religious affairs for organizing Holi celebrations.

He said the philosophy of Holi celebration was to spread message of peace and harmony.

He said it was vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to give equal rights to all the minorities in the country. He proposed that a closed temple in Multan should be reopened.

Parliamentary Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter Faith Harmony Aftab Jahangir said the government would reopen all the temples.

Other speakers and religious leaders also spoke on the religious and cultural significance of Holi celebrations.
