Colorful cultural, fun festival concludes at Art, Craft Village

ISLAMABAD, Apr 7 (APP):A three-day colorful cultural and fun festival “Colors of Islamabad” concluded here Sunday after attracting crowds of families and youth with fun and recreational activities at Arts and Craft Village.
The festival served the cultural and fun lovers with cultural information, shopping opportunity, cuisines, music, family fun activities and many more and residents of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad attended various sessions.
Artistically designed cultural pavilions displayed a variety of art, crafts, handmade and cultural products, clothing, fashion, beauty accessories, food stalls and other activities to provide recreational opportunities to the visitors.
The festival was focused on celebrating Pakistan’s culture, heritage, lifestyle, musical traditions and handcrafted products to promote and preserve the dying arts, crafts and traditions for the young generation as well as engaging youngsters in healthy activities, said the organizers.
This festival was an opportunity for culture lovers and youth as its objective was “learning and fun for all”. It offered learning sessions, craft making sessions, debates, storytelling, fun competitions, youth art competitions, art exhibition, violin and guitar sessions for youth and infotainment that focused on the rich diversity of cultural heritage of the country.
The art and craft making session included paper craft, mosaic art, henna art session, quilling paper craft, selfie props making session, vase painting session, face painting, beaded jewelry making session, weaving and knitting session etc.
While other activities included arts competition and exhibition, art and craft stalls, music competitions, general stalls, high heel race challenge, life skills session, food stalls, cooking competition, debate competition, sky lantern festival, sessions on how to grow indoor plants, first aid training, violin and guitar sessions etc.
Besides offering cultural glimpses at the stalls of cultural displays, the event guided the youngsters about various art forms in training sessions on art and craft making.They were also given opportunity to display their creative work and skills at the exhibition.
