ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (APP): Pakistan’s hopes to win $25,000 Chief of Naval Staff Squash Championship came to an end as Farhan Meboob, the lone Pakistani, who had qualified for the semifinal went down fighting hard to Egypt’s Omar Abdel Meguid at Mushaf Squash Complex, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad on Friday.
The world number 28 Meguid, who lost first set 5-11 to world nubmer 109 Farhan made a come back to snatch the victory, winning next three sets 12-10, 14-12 and 12-10 in a tense battle.
The match lasted for 57 minutes.
In the second semifinal, world number 30, Zahed Mohamed of Egypt defeated world number 49, Todd Harrity of USA with a game score of 7-11, 13-11, 11-8 and 11-7 in a Â 44 minutes for affairs.
The final will be held on Saturday at 1500 hours.
