LAHORE, Aug 5 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the residences of helicopter Pilot Col. ® Shafiq ur Rehman, Flight Engineer Col. ® Nasir Mahmood at Askari-10 and Pilot Col. ® Safdar Husain at State Life Housing Society here Friday and met their families.
He sympathized with them over the incident of helicopter in Loggar area of Afghanistan and apprised them of the efforts of the Punjab government for the safe recovery of helicopter crew.
He assured that all out resources are being utilized for the safe recovery of them and he hoped that the efforts in this regard will succeed.
Talking to the sons and families of Pilot Col. ® Shafiq ur Rehman, Flight Engineer Col. ® Nasir Mahmood and Col. ® Safdar Husain, the Chief Minister said that the incident that took place in Loggar area Afghanistan is sad, however, by the grace of Allah the crew are safe.
The Chief Minister said that government was making efforts at every level for the safe recovery and effective measures are being taken for this purpose.
He said that he is also in contact with concerned federal institutions in this regard.
He said that the first priority of the government is safe return of crew and it is hoped that a good news will soon be received.
Shehbaz Sharif said that he is in contact with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif, Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan and Prime Minister’s Special
Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatmi and other authorities in this regard.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also sent a message of sympathy for them and assured that all out efforts are being adopted for the recovery of helicopter crew.
The families of Col. ® Shafiq ur Rehman, Flight Engineer Col. ® Nasir Mahmood and Col. ® Safdar Husain while talking to the Chief Minister said that sincere efforts being made for the safe recovery of crew will succeed and they will return to their homes very soon.
