ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP):Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieutenant General Omar Mahmmood Hayat Monday said that China– Pakistan relationships are based on strong strategic, economic and political foundations.
The chairman expressed these view during a meeting with high level Chinese delegation which visited the NDMA.
The delegation was led by Vice Governor, Yunnan Province He Lianghui.
The Chairman NDMA welcomed the Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, said a press release issued here.
The chairman said that as both countries are already collaborating on multiple fronts, adding there is a strong need to share each others experiences in managing disasters in order to improve disaster prevention, mitigation and preparedness.
Both the sides recognize the need to deepen this collaboration in the field of disaster Management, he added.
Omar Mahmmood that cooperation between the two neighbouring countries in the field of disaster management will further promote friendly relations and strengthen the constructive development and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
He Lianghui, Vice Governor, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China thanked Chairman NDMA for warm hospitality and conveyed their wish to work with Pakistan for exploring possibilities of mutual cooperation in the field of Disaster Management.
Later, the delegation also visited Pakistan Metrological Department.
