MULTAN, Aug 23 (APP): State Minister for Water & Power Abid Sher Ali on Tuesday said that chanting slogans against Pakistan was a betrayal and action should be taken against perfidious elements under Article 6.

Talking to media persons here, he said that the perfidious elements had harmed the image of patriot Muhajirs and their ancestors by chanting slogans against Pakistan. He said that Pakistan would live long and anti state elements would be defeated.

He said that the government strongly condemned attacks on media houses and asked the provincial governments to take strict action against the accused.

The minister said that he would conduct sudden visits across the country to resolve issues of over billing and unscheduled loadshedding. He said that strict legal action was being taken against WAPDA official involved in corruption or other illegal activities. He said that justice would be provided to citizens at their door step, adding that action had already been taken against nine official at Jhang.

Abid Sher Ali said that new transmission lines were being laid across the country.

He said that there would be no loadshedding in 2018 as different projects were underway for power generation. He said that initiative for power generation were not taken in nine years of Pervez Musharaf and five years of Peoples Party government.

The State Minister said that Imran Khan, Sheikh Rasheed and Tahir ul Qadri were against progress of the country and Imran’s party had failed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that KPK government had failed to resolve land issues for WAPDA’s development scheme for construction of grid station at Chakdra.

He said that the public of KPK had rejected the politics of Imran Khan and his policies of agitation.
