ISLAMABAD, Nov 15 (APP): Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday said the Panama Papers matter was sub-judice and both the parties, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the prime minister, had shown their trust in the Supreme Court regarding the case.
Talking in a private TV programme, he said institutions should do their work and no one had the right to give comments, or judgments on media regarding the matter.
The minister said PTI called those people thief and looters who were not affiliated with it.
Replying to a question, he said during the Pakistan Peoples Party tenure the cases were filed in the courts against the government’s performance, because at that time the economy was deteriorating day by day.
He said the country was moving on the development path and its economy was getting stronger due to prudent government policies, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The international institutions were acknowledging the government’s performance too, he added.
Ahsan Iqbal said the opposition was afraid of the prime minister’s popularity among the people and it was expecting defeat in the general election 2018.
