Aziz invites Chinese universities to set up campuses in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, May 27 (APP): The Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz Friday invited Chinese universities to set up campuses in Pakistan and underlined the need for greater exchanges between the two countries in the field of higher education.

He made these comments in a meeting with eleven member
delegation of Chinese scholars led by Jia Qingguo, Dean, Peking University, at the Foreign Office.

The Adviser appreciated the economic development of China, which was a role model for developing countries. Chinese scholars and academicians have contributed to the country’s progress by setting high standards of education, particularly higher education and linking their research with industrial development in China.

Dean Jia Qingguo highlighted the time tested and all weather
friendly relations between the two countries. He appreciated the deliberations of ‘Beijing Forum’ held at National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and termed it a ‘successful dialogue’ between the scholars of the two countries.

Bilateral relations and progress on CPEC also came under
discussion.

Chinese scholars are visiting Pakistan in connection with the
‘Beijing Forum Islamabad’, which was co hosted by Peking University and NUST from May 23 26,2016.

The event was organized as part of the ongoing celebrations to mark the 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. This marks the first time for the prestigious Beijing Forum to be held outside China.
