APP, Kazakh news agency sign cooperation agreement

ISLAMABAD, May 13 (APP):The Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and Kazinform International News Agency Sunday signed an agreement to further enhance collaboration in news exchange and expand cooperation in the sphere of information exchange based on quality , mutual respect and benefits.
The agreement was signed by Managing Director, APP, Masood Malik and Director General Kazinform News Agency, Askar Umarov here on Sunday on the sidelines of two-day International Conference of News Agencies in connection with Pakistan’s 70th anniversary of Independence.
Both the news agencies have agreed to provide each other with their news services about the current event of interest of the internal and international life of their countries in English. The parties will be free to distribute the received news services by all means on their territories of their countries with the obligatory reference to the sources of information.
Under the agreement, the parties will provide user name and passwords to access their news services.
Both the sides agreed to share news to certain extent and ensure access to information as and when required by the parties.
The parties have agreed to protect content from accidental loss or theft and such attempt by the third party would immediately be reported and measures would be taken for avoiding any theft attempt in future.
Under the agreement, any party has the authority to choose which news to update and promote on the cooperated area.
The parties will closely cooperate in the organization and maintenance of information support of the visit of the head of the state, official delegates of their countries as well as other inter state activities and event held in the territory of the republic of Kazakhstan and Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The present agreement will come into effect from the date of signing by the parties for a period of three years and it will be automatically renewed for similar period.
Masood Malik said that the resolve to further enhance capacity and capability of news agency by entering into agreements with national news agencies abroad and widen the scope of its news coverage as more agreements were expected on the sidelines of the international conference.
