ISLAMABAD, Nov 1 (APP): Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal Tuesday advised the PTI leadership to observe `Youm-e-Taffakur’ instead of ‘Youm-e-Tashakur’ to review its policies.

Speaking in a private TV programme, he said the November 2, call given by PTI chief Imran Khan was not only to stage a sit-in but to lockdown Islamabad and to paralyse the state functioning as well.

He said the government had facilitated PTI for its public gathering in Raiwind and provided them security as they had sought proper permission for a peaceful protest.

Ahsan Iqbal said the government had to take protective measures to maintain peace in the federal capital on the PTI’s  lockdown plan as no one was allowed to create anarchy in the name of protest.

The minister said the government had demonstrated maximum flexibility on the terms of reference for Panama Papers issue and the Prime Minister had also offered to form a commission of the Supreme Court judges, but the PTI rejected the offer.

Ultimately, PTI had to accept the same commission of the Supreme Court, he said.

He said unfortunately, PTI chief Imran Khan was formulating party policies in consultation with Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and had ignored sincere party leaders.

Ahsan Iqbal said when the PTI had emerged as a political party, segments of the society hoped that Imran Khan, being a sportsman, would bring positive political values, but his continuous negative politics have resulted in decline of the party’s popularity.
